Anonymous asked: Dear Magnolia, I am in love with a Nightmare Courtier. But he's walking in a path that I can't follow at all because I am still one with the Dream. What should I do?
The Sylvari woman furrows her brow at the question.
“Hmm…That is a very difficult question to answer. You’re a lot braver than I am, that’s for sure!
“Matters of the heart are…are a very complicated and difficult thing, I’ve learned. And some times, you must go your separate ways in order to find the happiness that you deserve.
“I don’t know anything about the one you care for, other than that he is a Courtier, but if it were me, I would turn to my friends to help me stop loving that person.”
She looks off to the side sadly.
“Courtiers are a cruel and vicious lot. They’re dangerous, more so than most saplings realize. Please, be careful out there.”
Jade chuckles. “Well, I think apples are their main specialty. If they do sell other fruits, I wouldn’t know.” She then tilts her head to the side. “So…slightly changing the topic, I am curious. Do you have a specific Wyld Hunt?”
The little Sylvari shakes her head.
“No, I don’t have a Wyld Hunt at all.” She looks a little sheepish. “Actually, I’m kind of glad that I don’t. All that responsibility and duty to a single purpose…No, that’s not the life for me!”
Jade places her hands on her mouth as she gasps. “Really?! You are the first Dreamer that I have encountered without any form of a Wyld Hunt…” She then looks about Magnolia with a sudden air of suspicion. “…Unless you are Soundless…”
She blinks owlishly.
“No, I’m not Soundless.” The girl doesn’t seem to catch on to the other’s suspicion, more confused than anything else.
“Not everyone has a Wyld Hunt. Have you been Awake for very long?”
Jade nods. “I have been. Almost two years, in fact.” She then ponders for a bit, considering the implications of her words. “Although, I rarely am around a majority of our kind, seeing as I usually am at Divinity’s Reach for the most part. So, my lack of consistency in that respect should be…understandable.”
She then tilts her head to the side curiously. “Anyways…besides cooking, what other endeavors are you currently pursuing at the moment?”
Magnolia looks up thoughtfully.
“Nothing too exciting. I work part-time at the Constellation Shelter, but I don’t really go outside of the Grove too much these days.” She laughs.
“I must sound like a bland flower!”
Jade chuckles. “Well, I think apples are their main specialty. If they do sell other fruits, I wouldn’t know.” She then tilts her head to the side. “So…slightly changing the topic, I am curious. Do you have a specific Wyld Hunt?”

Jade nods in understanding. “Just the basics, or are you wishing to learn how to make something specific?”
The Sylvari grins sheepishly.
“Ah, the basics. I’m a terrible cook, but I’d like to get better!” Magnolia closes the book and stands up, giving the female a bright smile.
“I’m Magnolia.”
Jade smiles back as she performs a courteous bow. “Nice to meet you. My name’s Jade. Anyways, it is nice that you are aiming to better yourself! Perhaps one day, you will be able to make Omnomberry cakes and such!”
Maggie doesn’t bother returning the bow.
“That -would- be wonderful! I could make treats for all of my friends! Or for myself whenever I wanted.” She giggles a little.
“Do you cook at all, Jade?”
Jade shakes her head. “Not frequently. I know some basic recipes, but not enough to effectively call myself a cook. Not that I don’t want to be a skilled cook…I just don’t have as much time to focus just on that field.” She then chuckles light-heartedly. “Besides, one of my human friends is a master huntsman and cook, not to mention I buy apples frequently from the Tyrian Apple Company. So, I am not lacking in terms of quality food.”
She blinks a little in confusion at the company name, but then smiles again.
“They must sell a lot of apples! Or maybe they sell other fruit too, but apples are what they sell mostly?”
Jade chuckles. “Well, I think apples are their main specialty. If they do sell other fruits, I wouldn’t know.” She then tilts her head to the side. “So…slightly changing the topic, I am curious. Do you have a specific Wyld Hunt?”

Magnolia sits in front of the lake within the Grove. In her hands is a book that she’s reading, her blue-eyed gaze focused on the pages intently. She doesn’t seem to be very aware of those around her, engaged as she is.
It had been quite a while since Jade visited the Grove. But, like most of her kind, she could not stay away for too long…even if returning brings back certain…memories, both good and bad.
However, as she traverses the arboreal city, she notices a sylvari who seems…familiar. And yet she doesn’t know why that is… Nevertheless, she approaches the semi-mystery Sylvari, who seems to be reading a tome with voracious intent, and pokes her on the shoulder.
“Evening, sister… What are you reading?”
She looks up from the small book, blinking owlishly at the unfamiliar Sylvari before she breaks into a smile.
“Oh, hello!” She lifts up the book cover for the other’s inspection. “I’m, uh, reading about how to cook!”
Jade nods in understanding. “Just the basics, or are you wishing to learn how to make something specific?”

whispersilk-rose asked: "Because they don't spend EVERY waking moment doing bad things. Even they like to relax from time to time."
She looks away, uncomfortable.
“I guess I can understand that, but…the Reach? I thought they didn’t like being around the other races…”
